(1888PressRelease) April 22, 2010 - Novocortex became the Official Honoree of the 14th international Webby Awards. We received this award for the Endless Racing Game for iPhone, in the Mobile / Experimental & Innovation category.
The Webby Awards winners are selected by the International Academy for Digital Arts & Sciences (IADAS), which includes leading web experts, luminaries, visionaries and creative celebrities, such as David Bowie, Richard Branson, Biz Stone (founder of Twitter) and Vinton Cerf (inventor of the internet).
The 14th Webby Awards received nearly 10,000 entries from over 60 countries. "The Official Honoree distinction is awarded to the top 15% of all work entered that exhibits remarkable achievement", according to the Webby Awards.
Novocortex received the Webby Honoree distinction for the Endless Racing Game created for the Dutch insurance company VrijVerzekerd. The Endless Racing is the first racing game where game action moves from one iPhone to another. Players can build an endless race track by connecting their iPhones via Bluetooth. The game uses the innovative peer-to-peer technology of iPhone, and is co-created by Novocortex, Red Graphic, Eat Information and ScienceSoft.
