Novocortex and The Concept Channel sell BrainShopping to Sanoma. BrainShopping is a fun shopping concept and a new form of online advertising. Visitors of BrainShopping get displayed products by winning an online game.
(1888PressRelease) August 22, 2009 - Novocortex and The Concept Channel have sold the BrainShopping concept to Sanoma Uitgevers, part of Sanoma Magazines. BrainShopping.nl is the virtual store where visitors pay with their brains. Visitors can get a displayed product by winning an online game. The games vary from a photo quiz to an online puzzle. Forget credit cards, cattle, cowry shells and even whales teeth - brains is the only currency accepted at BrainShopping.nl.
BrainShopping is more than a fun shopping concept. It is a new form of online advertising. Visitors play online games to win prizes made available by advertisers. They can learn product information by playing a customized game. And they submit their personal data to receive the prize. The BrainShopping concept was tested in co-operation with MSN, Albert Heijn (the largest supermarket chain in the Netherlands) and Wehkamp (one of the largest online retailers in the Netherlands).
The BrainShopping concept is created by The Concept Channel and realised by Novocortex in co-operation with Astronim. In order to build the BrainShopping portal, Novocortex and Astronim used their advergaming expertise gained in online campaigns for Rabobank, Interpolis and Kimberley-Clark.
