Notinhalloffame.com Unveils The Top 500 Acts For The Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame's Consideration
Notinhalloffame.com has announced the top 500 musical acts who should be considered for the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland, Ohio. In late September, the Hall of Fame will announce fifteen nominees and induct five of them in a separate announcement at the end of the year.

Deciding which of these acts should be placed in the "immortal" category by inducting them into a Hall of Fame dedicated towards what is arguably the most important musical style in the world is one of the easiest debates to generate in all of Pop Culture". For the second year in a row, the Canadian Progressive Rock triumvirate of Rush tops the notinhalloffame.com Rock List. The genre of "Prog Rock" has been largely ignored by the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and the specific plight of Rush's Hall cause has been taken up by a large on-line presence and by comments from their peers.
The second slot is held by Germany's Kraftwerk; who may not have sold a ton of records, but launched an electronic revolution in music that will likely be felt for centuries to come. Classic Rock radio staples; Deep Purple is ranked number three. The band that gave the iconic riff on "Smoke on the Water" has never been nominated for the Hall of Fame. Fourth ranked is the kabuki painted band, KISS. The American rockers were nominated two years ago, but were not selected. Members of the band have been vocal about their exclusion to and their fans are amongst the biggest critics of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. They are followed by Public Enemy, who is entering their first year of eligibility. To be eligible, twenty five years must pass after their first album is released. The top ten is rounded out by New Order, Roxy Music, Jethro Tull, The Smiths and Willie Nelson. The list goes to 500.
