Notable Couples Therapist Interviewed On Relationship Podcast
Wendi L. Dumbroff speaks about vulnerability in relationships.
- Newark, NJ (1888PressRelease) July 15, 2020 - Wendi L. Dumbroff, MA, LPC, was recently featured in a segment on Zensensa's podcast, “Sexual Vulnerability and Presence". Dumbroff spoke on desire and how it can change over the life span of a relationship.
Emphasized throughout the interview was the importance of clear communication - especially when it came to sexual topics. "Anytime a couple shares intimate, vulnerable feelings with each other, it builds connection and intimacy between them."
Dumbroff discussed a common problem called discrepant desire where one partner wants sex more than the other. Dumbroff then mentioned that this is when the concept of "willingness" can be used. This simply means you don’t need desire to begin having sex; rather, you can just be willing to engage and desire may follow.
Dumbroff also touched on the concept of being vulnerable with one’s partner. She also spoke about the importance of mindfulness, being fully present in the moment during sexual connection.
