Mark Johnson has been named vice president of operations for Northwire Technical Cable. Johnson's new position at Northwire was created in response to growth and customer demand for innovative cabling solutions. Johnson will be responsible for manufacturing, quality, Six Sigma and Lean at Northwire facilities in Osceola, Wis. and Santa Teresa, N.M.

Johnson brings to Northwire 19 years of professional manufacturing experience in quality assurance, process improvement and supply management. A Lean Sigma Champion, Johnson will further enhance the company's commitment to providing quality products that exceed application requirements with fast delivery and no minimum order length or quantity requirements.
Johnson has held senior management positions with several multibillion-dollar original equipment manufacturers (OEMs). Most recently, he was Lean Sigma Champion, Global Operations for an electronic manufacturing services company. Prior to that, Johnson's functions included director of operational excellence, director of manufacturing operations and director of cost management, Lean and Six SigmaŽ. He also served in the United States Department of Energy for the United States Navy as a nuclear master machinist, quality control supervisor and quality assurance inspector.
