NorthShore University HealthSystem Receives $5 Million Gift to Support Urological Care at NorthShore Glenbrook Hospital
Donald Rappeport donated 5 million dollars to the John and Carol Walter Center for Urological Health at NorthShore Glenbrook Hospital.
- Chicago, IL (1888PressRelease) February 11, 2012 - NorthShore University HealthSystem (NorthShore) Foundation has received a $5 million gift to support leading edge urological care and research at NorthShore Glenbrook Hospital. The generous donors of this gift are Donald and Joan Rappeport of Northbrook, Illinois.
"Our family has accessed care and relied on Glenbrook Hospital since it opened its doors," said Donald Rappeport. "We are grateful to have this remarkable institution and its highly regarded physicians right in our backyard. We hope this gift will further the extraordinary work and breakthrough research at Glenbrook Hospital."
The Rappeport's gift will support the John and Carol Walter Center for Urological Health, a comprehensive, state-of-the art destination center for urological care, dedicated to providing a highly personalized treatment plan for every patient. Set to open at NorthShore Glenbrook Hospital in the spring of 2012, the Walter Center will offer leading medical care and advanced diagnosis and treatment of all urologic diseases-affecting both men and women-including preventive care, cancer, benign prostatic disease, kidney stones, urinary incontinence, urinary tract infection, and sexual health. The Rappeport's generous donation will help ensure that the highly regarded, board-certified urologists and support staff at the Walter Center are able to develop better treatments for patients and stimulate novel discoveries to improve patient care.
