- Oakland, CA (1888PressRelease) September 07, 2013 - Ñora Mobile Spanish Cuisine & Catering will participate in The 8th Annual Bay Area Flamenco Festival by hosting a Pop Up dinner at La Peña Café on Friday, September 21st, 2013 at 6 pm. This special Flamenco Festival dinner takes place before the performance in the La Peña theater space by headliner Concha Vargas, icon of Gypsy flamenco dance, direct from Spain. The menu for the Pop Up dinner is inspired by Flamenco culture and Andalusian cuisine.
The intricate history of these cultures will be represented in the smells and tastes of the menu, using spices, cured meats and local fish to pay homage to southern Spain. Ñora's Pop Up dinner will have a 6 pm seating of a "Menu del Dia," a five course southern Spanish themed dinner, as well as a casual a la carte menu with counter service. The Menu del Dia consists of a salad, two tapas, paella, and desert. A meat/seafood option as well as a vegetarian option will be available. Tickets for the five course seated meal are $30 per person, not including beer and wine. Reservations are strongly recommended for the five course Menu del Dia seating. A la carte service will be available at the walk-up counter.
The 8th Annual Bay Area Flamenco Festival runs for three weekends from September 21st-October 6th, 2013 and celebrates the dance, music and culture of Flamenco. "In recent years, the San Francisco Bay Area has become a major U.S. conduit for Spain's greatest flamenco artists. […] There's really a vibrant scene here and Nina Menéndez has become a major force [as] the producer of the Bay Area Flamenco Festival," (NPR The California Report). Tickets for all Flamenco Festival events can be purchased at www.BayAreaFlamencoFestival.org.
