  • (1888PressRelease) November 30, 2011 - ReaderDock announces the launch of the "I Want My Nook Dock!" and "I Want My Kindle Fire Dock!" petitions aimed at drawing attention to the lack of docking and charging stations for the Nook Color™, Nook Tablet™ and even Kindle Fire.

The petitions are causing quite a stir online -- leaving many Kindle Fire and Nook Tablet owners scratching their heads.

It's well known that both e-reader tablets are built on the Android platform and offer consumers far more options than just reading. But a lack of docking stations is making it difficult for users to listen to music, watch videos, view photos, listen to audio books or simply read books hands-free. These customers are demanding more for their investment.

Now, ReaderDock (http://www.readerdock.com) is leading the charge to unite both Nook Color and Kindle Fire owners to sign and share online petitions which demand more options for their tablets. At ReaderDock.com Nook Color, Nook Tablet and Kindle Fire owners are demanding docking stations with quality speakers and recharging capabilities -- so they can continuously use their device like iPad users. They also want the docking station to hold the device at any angle to accommodate app and reading preferences.

"We launched these petitions because there quite simply are no docking stations on the market made specifically for the Nook Color, Nook Tablet or Kindle Fire and consumers, like myself, want to do more with their e-reader tablets," says Gina Kearney of ReaderDock.

While these devices are touted as the more affordable version of the iPad and customers are buying them in droves, it's surprising that the accessory and docking station options are scarce or nonexistent. And, with the multitude of iPad accessories and docking stations on the market, it's surprising that Nook and Kindle owners are not being given the same options. After all, these devices are much more than e-readers and customer should be able to use them to their full capacity without having to hold them in their hands.

To fill the docking station void, some Nook and Kindle owners have created makeshift docks out of the product packaging and other recycled materials. But as far as we can tell, these can only hold the device; they cannot charge the battery or play music. While their ingenuity is applauded, Nook and Kindle docking stations are in demand and ReaderDock.com is the place to go be notified when one hits the market.

For every signature ReaderDock receives now through December 31, 2011, they'll donate five cents to Firstbook.org, a organization dedicated to giving the gift of reading to children in need.
