  • Tampa-St. Petersburg-Clearwater, FL (1888PressRelease) December 21, 2018 - On December 18th the Clearwater Community Volunteers (CCV) Center held its monthly charity networking event featuring Ms. Pam Ryan Anderson, Executive Director of CCV. In addition to networking, nonprofit leaders listened to Ms. Ryan Anderson give advice on building and maintaining a volunteer base – a vital component to expanding any nonprofit organization’s community outreach.

Ms. Ryan-Anderson has more than 16 years of experience directing volunteers with the Clearwater Community Volunteers to the end of helping thousands of families and children each year. With the help of hundreds of volunteers, CCV creates its annual Winter Wonderland and annual Ginormous Coachman Park Easter Egg Hunt.

“Volunteers are the foundation of any nonprofit.” said Mrs. Ryan Anderson. “You’ll find that you have two types of volunteers. First, is the person who helps on occasion, then there’s your main body of dedicated volunteers who help throughout the year. They work for your nonprofit without expecting compensation, and part of the ‘secret’ to keeping the second type of volunteer is to acknowledge them for donating their time with something like a personal thank you letter.”

While presenting, Ms. Ryan Anderson told her audience how she engages one on one with her volunteers to keep them interested and willing to help. She also informed the audience that a vital part of keeping volunteers is finding out what job they want to do, as opposed to just assigning them to a job you want them to do.

The networking event is complimentary to nonprofits and their volunteers. It’s held once a month by the Clearwater Community Volunteers Center to promote nonprofit organizations to work together.

The next charity networking event in the CCV Center is scheduled for Tuesday, January 15th.
