Nigerian Institute Of Management Renews Call For Efficient Resource Management…Seek Support For 50th Anniversary/Management Conference
Nigerian Institute of Management has renewed her call for the efficient utilization of the nation's resources and her commitment to ensuring that qualified managers are put in charge of administration both in public and private concerns.
- (1888PressRelease) June 22, 2011 - As the newly elected officials settle into their offices nationwide, the Nigeria Institute of Management (Chartered), the foremost multidisciplinary institute in the country, has renewed her call for the efficient utilization of the nation's resources and her commitment to ensuring that qualified managers are put in charge of administration both in public and private concerns.
Speaking after a Council meeting in Lagos recently, the President and Chairman of Council, Nigeria Institute of Management (Chartered), Dr. (Mrs.) Sally Nkem Adukwu-Bolujoko FNIM, stated that the Institute would not relent in her agitation for efficient utilization of resources and the quest to bequeath a well trained work force to the nation as well as making sure that pedestrians are eradicated from the management of the economy.
Dr. (Mrs.) Adukwu-Bolujoko stated that Nigeria is now at the level where management has to be visible in all facets of life. According to her, "We have reached a stage in Nigeria where we should not encourage mediocrity in the administration of scarce resources and if we don't get it right now, we may miss it forever".
While pointing out the importance and vital role of good management in any establishment, the President expressed delight that the Institute has been at the vanguard of producing qualified managers through series of trainings and empowerment programmes since 1961.
She disclosed that the Institute will be celebrating her 50th Anniversary this year together with the 2011 Annual Management Conference at the International Conference Centre Abuja, between the 25th and 28th September, 2011 adding that the Institute will use the occasion to rebrand, reposition and re-launch for better performance and improved service delivery in the years ahead. She added that the Management Conference will witness series of discourse on governance and how to move the nation forward.
"The 50th Anniversary and 2011 National Management Conference provides the Institute yet another opportunity to rebrand, re-launch and reposition itself for better performance and efficient service delivery. Coming years will witness a new dawn in the history of the Institute" she declared.
The President also used the occasion to canvass the support of corporate bodies, individuals and the three tiers of government to partner with the Institute at this auspicious time. According to her, "This is going to be a very big event and that is why we are calling on well meaning Nigerians and corporate organizations to lend their support towards the Institute's agenda".
She expressed profound gratitude and appreciation to government, corporate organisations and individuals for the immense contributions and support the Institute has received from them over these years
