Nigeria's Independence Day History Inspires 'Inspiration for Change' City of London Event
Nigeria's independence from colonial rule 50 years ago notwithstanding, her people are seeking inspiration for change as the country's history remains plagued by poverty, declining educational standards, corrupt leadership and political instability.
- (1888PressRelease) July 09, 2010 - Millions of Nigerians and Africans who migrated to western countries inspired by the desire to change their fortune, are also discovering that life overseas offers very complex mental, physical and economic challenges and that tremendous skill, wisdom and effort are required to compete on the international playing field. Consequently, many highly skilled Nigerians and Africans feel frustrated, short-changed, disillusioned and anxious about the future... especially in the current economic recession.
In commemoration of the 50th Nigeria's Independence Day Anniversary, The Creativity and Sense Organisation (with the support of various professionals and non-governmental associations), is hosting 'Inspiration for Change!' - a series of empowering and mind-shifting events inspired by the exciting new novel 'Egg-Larva-Pupa-Woman' written by Ogo Akubue-Ogbata.
The first 'Inspiration for Change!' event kicks off with style in the City of London at 7:00pm prompt on July 22nd 2010 in the snug and sophisticated confines of The Auberge - 56 Mark Lane, Fenchurch, London EC3R 7NE. An excellent line up of speakers (that includes Nigerian-born ex Harvard Director, Chioma Isiadinso, Mike Skidmore - who's worked as a consultant for The British Council and The United Nations, as well as event facilitator Ogo Ogbata) will be on hand to share some hard hitting home truths, inspirational success stories and proven strategies for creating positive and accelerated change on a personal, career and community level.
The 'Inspiration for Change!' City of London Event is particularly suited to artists, scientists, educators, forward-thinking career and business professionals of Nigerian; African origin, supporters of Nigeria; Africa and professional people from all parts of the world who are interested in creating change for themselves and others.
The 'Nigeria's Independence Day' inspired event offers an opportunity to network with like minded professional people who are poised to make positive changes in the world, enjoy world-class presentations by speakers who are skilled at challenging limiting thinking and a forum to debate on topical issues that affect us all personally and professionally. Attendees will also get the chance to preview and collect autographed copies of 'Egg-Larva-Pupa-Woman' (the debut literary novel that seamlessly chronicles Nigeria's history from the colonial 1950s and decades of political turbulence up to the modern era of democracy)!
Following the 'Inspiration for Change!' City of London Event, a series of community initiatives will be launched (or brought to limelight) in order to ensure that tangible 'action' is set in motion to move Nigeria and Africa forward after 50 years of independence. The charity of the night is AFRUCA - the premier organisation promoting the welfare of African children in the UK.
