Nicholas Pothitakis Announced as New President of The Des Moines County Bar Association

Mr. Pothitakis has been practicing law in Des Moines County for nearly twenty years. Prior to his assignment as the President of the Association he was serving as the treasurer for the Association. Mr. Pothitakis's main areas of practice are workman's compensation and personal injury. The Des Moines County Bar Association are made up of attorneys who are practicing in Des Moines County, Iowa. Mr. Pothitakis will have the responsibility of presiding over all the meetings, scheduled guest speakers for each meeting, and presiding over all issues facing the Association.

Since 1993 Mr. Pothitakis has been practicing law at his law, Pothitakis Law Firm,P.C., which is located in Burlington, Iowa. Mr. Pothitakis is a native to the state of Iowa; he graduated from the University of Iowa where he received a degree in Finance and Economics, graduating with honors and high distinction. He went on to get a degree in Law from the University Of Texas School Of Law. After receiving his Doctorate in Jurisdiction, he went came back to Iowa to practice law, his law firm now has two locations, one in Burlington, Iowa, and one in Keokuk, Iowa, where he now specializes as an Iowa workman's compensation attorney and as an Iowa personal injury attorney.

Mr. Pothitakis has held other position in law association in Iowa. Since 2005 he has been a member of the Iowa Association of Workers' Compensation Lawyers, Inc. In 2006 and 2007 he was a member of the Board of Governors of the Iowa Trial lawyers Associations. And from 2000 to 2002 Mr Pothitakis was a member of the Workers' Compensation Section of the Iowa State Bar Association. He has also been a long-standing member of the Iowa Trial Lawyers Association and the American Trial Lawyers Association.
