(1888PressRelease) October 02, 2010 - Over 100 golfers participated in the 2010 North Florida Hotel and Lodging Association (NFHLA) Claude Collins Hospitality Scholarship Charity Golf Tournament played on The Ocean Course at Ponte Vedra Inn & Club.

"We had a great turnout for a important cause, scholarships to help educate and train the future leaders in our industry. We achieved our goal of surpassing last year's scholarship fundraising amount, " said David Mariotti, president of the NFHLA.

Individual honors went to David Mason for closest to the pin on No.16, Charlie Morris for longest putt on No. 18, Dave Vormack for longest drive (men) on No. 7 and Tracey Evans for longest drive (women) on No. 13.

First place team was James Thomas, John Machnic, Dennis Holler and Mike Hagel; second place went to Dave Disalvo, John Morrison, Ross Urso, Ken Joseph. The third place team was Sean Hassan, Marc Majed El Hassan, Ben Ossi and Majed Hassan.

Tournament Silver sponsors included Jacksonville JetPort at Cecil Field, Sight & Sound Productions. Bronze sponsors included the Jacksonville Aviation Authority, Edward Don & Company and Visit Jacksonville.

The NFHLA serves its membership with a lobbying voice at local and state levels on all issues affecting the Northeast Florida hotel and hospitality industry as well as serving its membership and the community with pertinent resources, education, scholarships and networking opportunities.
