Next SGS Time of Flight Diffraction (TOFD) Training Course Scheduled on August 23, 2010 in Shanghai
Time of Flight Diffraction (TOFD) is an Ultrasonic Testing Technique with significant advantages in terms of speed and the detection of defects. This testing method has now become a key technology, replacing radiography, when radiation levels are critically monitored and is increasingly accepted worldwide.

These Time of Flight Diffraction training courses were conducted in the last few months by the SGS NDT Training and Examination Center in China, the Netherlands and Spain and proved to be a great success with fully booked classrooms and an excellent pass rate.
Due to the increasing demand for TOFD training courses SGS provides Time of Flight Diffraction training courses and examinations on a regular basis. The next course is scheduled to run from August 23 to September 5, 2010 in Shanghai, China and will be run by Mr. Norbert Trimborn, president of the Authorized Qualifying Body of the TOFD Examining Committee and Head of Special Examinations at SGS.
The Time of Flight Diffraction course is accredited by the British Institute of NDT and meets the requirements of the EN 473 and SNT-TC-1A Standard. On September 4-5, at the end of the course, an optional examination in accordance with the SNT or PCN/EN 473 will be offered to the participants.
