Newton Consulting's Chris Hafner Named Strategic Planning Society Chairman
Chris Hafner, Vice President of Strategy and Director of European Operations for Newton Consulting, LLC, was recently elected Chairman of the Strategic Planning Society, an international organization for strategy professionals headquartered in London, U.K.
- (1888PressRelease) March 13, 2014 - PITTSBURGH, PA - The Strategic Planning Society (SPS) consists of a worldwide network of strategy professionals in the private, public, and nonprofit sectors as well as in academia. SPS serves to improve the practice, development and recognition of strategic management through outreach, education, and partnerships.
Hafner is a Fellow with the SPS, a designation given to members who demonstrate a high level of knowledge, experience, integrity, and commitment to the field of strategy. He also serves on the editorial review board for the society's quarterly publication Strategy Magazine.
One of Hafner's SPS initiatives is a partnership with Innovation Enterprise Group, the producer of worldwide summits in the field of strategy. Through that partnership, Hafner chaired the recent Chief Strategy Officer Summit in New York City. "It was an honor to collaborate with and introduce heads of strategy from leading organizations such as GE, Sanofi, and Siemens, who shared their insights and experiences with attendees."

Hafner joined Newton Consulting in 2012. With his 20 years of experience in strategy development, implementation management, and execution, he helped build Newton's strategy offering and business consulting practice. His international experience also made him well suited to manage Newton's European operations, and in 2013, he relocated to the U.K. to support a growing global client base.
"My recent relocation to London enables me to work more closely with SPS and Newton's growing global clientele," said Hafner, who lived in Pittsburgh, Pa., prior to his move to the U.K.
