NewSat CEO Talked About Progress of Jabiru Satellite Communications Project
In an interview following the recently held ASX conference, NewSat CEO Adrian Ballintine said that funding has been keeping his satellite communications firm busy for the past three months.
- (1888PressRelease) April 11, 2012 - It has been a very busy three months for NewSat as it aims to raise credit funds for the construction of Australia's first independently owned communications satellite.
In an interview following the recently held ASX conference, NewSat CEO Adrian Ballintine said that funding has been keeping his satellite communications firm busy for the past three months.
"I've bee in in London and New York recently... working with major funds, appraising them with NewSat's progress. " Ballintine had also been in Washington where he meet with satellite vendors, particularly Lockheed Martin which is building the Jabiru-1 Ka-band satellite, and Arianespace which will launch the said satellite.
Ballintine proudly announced that NewSat has been one of the three nominees to the World Teleport Awards. It means that NewSat is regarded by its peers and customers as providing extraordinary service, said Ballintine, adding that NewSat has outperformed around 1,700 teleport operators in the world. He attributed this achievement to the people and resources employed by NewSat to run and maintain its modern satellite communications facilities.
NewSat was of the smallest satellite operators that participated in the 2012 ASX Emerging Growth Conference in London and New York, where 80% of the participating companies were in oil and mining markets. NewSat was not only well represented, it also attracted enormous audience in sessions it attended. These presentations have generated enormous interests in the fund management communities in New York and London. This has significantly improved the credit outlook of the Jabiru space program from the perspective of international lenders.
Participating in the ASX conference has opened up great business opportunities for the on-going satellite communications project of NewSat. Australia has a specialized knowledge of mining and energy industries, but its experience in satellite communications market is not as much. Ballintine said the event was the perfect opportunities to leverage the company domestic advantages with international expertise of more global partners.
