Mallette Brings Her Personal Life to Teens with Applicable Takeaways from Nowhere but Up, Teen Edition in Stores July 2, 2013.
- Los Angeles-Long Beach, CA (1888PressRelease) June 06, 2013 - With over two million Twitter followers and a teen pop sensation as her son, Pattie Mallette can largely relate to many teenagers today. Mallette is set to release an inspiring teen edition of her New York Times bestselling book: Nowhere but Up: The Story of Justin Bieber's Mom on July 2, 2013. In this new edition with Revell Books, a division of Baker Publishing, Mallette aims to share her story specifically with teens and bring them encouragement by telling her powerful life story. New features have also been added to this edition, including sidebars on topics based on actual questions from Mallette's Twitter followers and a group discussion guide.
"I've always had a heart for young people, and I'm so excited to be able to share my story to teenagers in an age appropriate way to bring hope and inspiration," says Mallette. "When I was a teenager, it always helped me to hear the stories of others, and how they made it through difficult circumstances. With the inclusion of side bars of advice and the addition of the discussion questions in Nowhere but Up: Teen Edition, I hope to help teenagers identify with their own stories and navigate through some of their own pain."
Throughout the book, Mallette candidly shares her life story in order to show teens how they can find hope in the most difficult situations. Despite dealing with abandonment issues, depression, sexual abuse and teen pregnancy, Mallette shows that her life has been filled with grace and hope. Mallette shares how her faith brought her through and made her a stronger person because of her difficult journey. As many of her fans see her as second mom, they will be able to read the teen edition of Nowhere but Up and trust the sound advice that Mallette has to offer.
A significant difference was made in Mallette's life through the relationship of mentors, so she's intentionally gathering groups of teenagers to talk through her new book. The focus of those gatherings is creating an environment for young people to open up about their own story and learn from her experiences. This teen version of her story will hopefully provide solace as well as guidance for Mallette's teen fans around the world.
To further help teens, Mallette founded the brand new Round 2 Foundation, a charity that aims to empower others through making a difference. Through meaningful partnerships with existing campaigns in addition to creating unique campaigns, the Round 2 Foundation seeks to be a resource for worthwhile causes and projects. The Round 2 Foundation main objective is to create a call to action around campaigns that matter and will make a difference in the world.
Mallette collaborated with accomplished author A.J Gregory in this edition as well. Gregory is the author of Messy Faith and Silent Savior, which chronicles finding faith in the middle of unavoidable and sometimes harsh realities. She also collaborates with high profile public figures to help them write their own stories and has written over 25 books. Gregory helped Mallette put her inspiring story to paper.
The 208 page story of Mallette's journey will be available for purchase on July 2, 2013 for $14.99.
