New York Road Runners Host Bone Marrow Drive to Save Lives
If you are between the ages of 18 and 45 and in general good health, you are eligible to be screened and join the worldwide marrow registry for patients in need.
- (1888PressRelease) June 13, 2017 - Cancer is a random killer. It can strike any one of us at any time. Join the New York Road Runners as they host a recruitment drive to register potential bone marrow donors to benefit patients suffering from diseases like leukemia and lymphoma whom are in need of a marrow transplant.
The drive, held on behalf of Gift of Life Marrow Registry, will be on June 13, 2017 at 156 W 56th Street, 3rd Floor, New York, NY 10019 from 9:30am-11:00am.
Everyone is encouraged to participate in the drive. It’s fast and painless. If you are between the ages of 18 and 45 and in general good health, you are eligible to be screened and join the worldwide registry for patients in need. A simple swab from the inside of your cheek is all it takes to determine if you are a match.
Although there is no cost for a volunteer to join, there is a $60 lab processing fee for each kit. Gift of Life relies on the generosity of donations to help offset these costs.
