The Commack, New York law firm of Rudolph F.X. Migliore, P.C. is accepting cases on behalf of people who took the prescription medication Reglan and later developed tardive dyskinesia, a neurological disorder that causes uncontrollable, repetitive movements of the body.
- Nassau-Suffolk, NY (1888PressRelease) December 04, 2010 - The law office of Rudolph F.X. Migliore, P.C. announced today the firm is now accepting cases on behalf of people who used the prescription drug Reglan and later developed tardive dyskinesia, a neurological disorder that causes uncontrollable, repetitive movements of the body, such as grimacing, lip smacking, eye blinking or rapid leg and arm movements. The symptoms are rarely reversible and there is no known treatment.
"Millions of Americans suffer from acid reflux. However, the problems it causes are nowhere near the frightening damage of Reglan's side effects. With Reglan, the cure can be worse than the disease," states NY products liability attorney, Rudy Migliore.
Despite the many studies showing that Reglan was associated with tardive dyskinesia, the drug's manufacturers did not warn of it on the label until 2004, and did not add the Black Box warning until February 2009.
Further investigation into Reglan has determined that patients, including infants and children, and the elderly, face significant risk of developing tardive dyskinesia. The risk is especially associated with those who have been on the drug for a long time, sometimes even after the patient stopped taking the drug.
Long Island attorney, Rudolph Migliore emphasized, "Modern medicine has done wonderful things to improve the quality of our lives. Yet horrible suffering results, when defective products or medications cause unintended consequences."
The Migliore firm has represented clients in wide range of product liability cases in the last three decades and has worked with nationally recognized co-counsel to reach successful settlements for clients.
