EBL Coaching creates the first of its kind writing software program.
- New York, NY (1888PressRelease) June 30, 2024 - The purpose of Artificial Intelligence Appreciation Day is for the community to celebrate the positive achievements of AI technology and try to start a dialogue about the subject itself. One business owner has found a way to mesh human and machine intelligence to help students excel with their writing. Dr. Emily Levy, along with her daughter Sophie, put their heads and hearts together to create a new software program called Writing Mastery, that strengthens students’ writing skills while using artificial intelligence to score their writing and give direct feedback for improvement.
Research tells us that roughly 75% of students struggle with writing. Historically, scoring writing and providing feedback to students has always been subjective. The Writing Mastery software program streamlines the teaching and scoring of writing, helping students to drastically improve their writing skills. Using this program, students start by taking a baseline assessment. They are directed to start with either sentence structure, simple paragraphs, extended paragraphs, or five paragraph essays, where they learn how to write in a systematic manner. Artificial Intelligence is then used to score the student’s writing on a scale of 1-10 stars and gives them direct feedback on how to improve their writing. The program also maintains student writing portfolios to monitor growth. This program is revolutionizing the teaching of writing.
As a bit of background on the creators, Dr. Emily Levy is an educational expert, author, and advocate for students with special education needs. In 2017, Dr. Levy was selected as one of Bergen County’s Commission on the Status of Women Honorees during Women’s History Month. She also performs public speaking on special education topics both nationally and internationally, and writes regularly for a number of education publications. Finally, she is also the Founder of EBL Coaching, a one-on-one, specialized tutoring program that offers individualized, research-based tutoring to children with specialized learning needs in grades pre-K to 12. Sophie Gutter Sophie is a high school student who is incredibly passionate about helping neurodivergent students thrive.
