The company started their season of giving with a splash, sponsoring 100 children through the World Vision children's charity. The charity uses a faith-based approach to conquer poverty in third-world nations. Since then, Swipe Auctions has sponsored an additional child each day.
They also support the Kiva Foundation, which makes microloans to aspiring entrepreneurs in impoverished areas of the world. They provided loans to 10 individuals earlier this summer, and plan to sponsor 250 more in the weeks ahead.
Most importantly, when Swipe Auctions signed their one-millionth member this month, they donated a total of $100,000 to four charities in a single day including Boston Children's Hospital, the Nevada YMCA, the Breast Cancer Research Fund and the Gulf Oil Restoration Fund.
When people go to the newly launched site they will see full explanations of why Swipe Auctions chose these organizations. There will also be special links that will bring people directly to the donations pages for the charities.
