New Video Brings The World Of Event Management To Life
A new free-to-view video about Event Management has just been uploaded to YouTube by the Irish Academy of Public Relations. The video explains what Event Management is all about and covers all aspects from booking celebrities to health and safety issues. The Academy offer online courses in Event Management, worldwide, which being on September 19th, 2013.

It explains the framework in which event managers work, through the visual story of a busy music weekend in The Spirit Store, a music venue in Ireland. The video, which is free to view, is part of a new autumn series of educational videos from the Academy.

"Event Management is now a major industry worldwide", said Ellen Gunning director of the Irish Academy of Public Relations. "It generates billions of dollars globally. It is used by governments and major corporates to launch policies and products. It is also used by the music and film industries to launch actors, bands, films and new releases" she added.
The video explains that Event Management involves not only managing the event itself, but being responsible for the health and safety of people attending. The Event Manager also takes care of staff recruitment, licencing issues, security for attendees and celebrities. They are also responsible for booking the venue, promoting the event, creating props, booking actors and speciality acts.
The Academy has Event Management graduates in 27 countries around the world who handle everything from pub entertainment and national product launches, to private and corporate entertainment functions.
