New Stereolab-produced Single From Cambridge-based Alt. Dream Pop Pioneers
New single 'Stay With Me' out for download 3rd Feb 2014.
- (1888PressRelease) December 19, 2013 - Who'd have thought a bad studio experience would lead to Alternative Dream Pop Duo Sound Menagerie ending up working with members of Stereolab? Well, that's exactly what happened when Abi Parker (vocals) and songwriter Stephen C Wilson (Bass/Guitar) began work on their new material. "We were looking for a good studio in London after a very bad studio experience and after an extensive search found Press Play which turned out to be Andy Ramsay's studio." says Stephen.
Andy loved the band so much that not only did he get involved with production he also played drums and percussion parts on the songs, as well as drafting in Stereolab band-mate Joe Watson to play keyboards.
The wonderfully melodic perfect pop of 'Stay With Me' was one of the tracks to be born out of the sessions at Press Play Studios and it is the first single to be lifted from their new album (which is currently being completed).
The bands last release, the album 'Far or Through' came out in 2011 and gained airplay from a number of radio stations. This exposure has seen the band gain a number of fans with the vast majority of theses coming from the USA and Canada.
The band are currently working on completing the new album which also includes new track 'Watermark' featuring a guest appearance from Rowan Robertson (Dio/DC4/Vast/AMRadio/Billy Ray Cyrus) playing lead guitar.
