The mere display of the event logo or one's name signals that you are a participant, that you want to communicate with others and would be pleased to communicate. Traditional nametags were developed almost a century ago for just these reasons, but have hardly changed even though fabrics and styles have changed along with technology such as electronic media, QR Codes, etc. With these concepts in mind, Badgetec worked years developing round "button" tags and badgetags with new 21st century features. With more than half a dozen patents issued, there is something new!

Badgetec's new clothing attachment resolves several of the long-standing issues with wearing nametags with pins and adhesives. This new clothing-safe attachment, called the Contour Clip®, attaches like a "paperclip" to the edge of ones garment (collar, lapel, pocket), using an improved mechanical clip principle. Designed with a central finger surrounded by a flat frame (similar to a paperclip), it creates increased grip over fabric while not producing creases or punctures in the fabric like pins or traditional badge clips. The plastic clip is clothing-safe, child-safe and hospital-safe. It captures the tag through a slot in the tag, eliminating the need for a plastic holder. Being the first new clothing attachment is almost 100 years, the Contour Clip received a patent in 2012 for its unique design.

Along with this special clip design, new round tags and badges are provided as die cut sheets for laser and inkjet printer using printable cardstock and white polyester (for extended & waterproof use). Since there is no plastic holder, the badges and tags can be any shape such as rectangular, round or pattern shapes. The resulting nametag system has many new attributes such as being eco-friendly, reduced work required to issue badges (less teardown, no stuffing into holders), easier to read and being clothing-safe (no pins-no holes). Intended for self-printing, these standard size sheets can be printed using Microsoft Word (AVERY®) templates on most office laser/inkjet printers. One then simply separates the nametags from the sheet and issues them.
