  • (1888PressRelease) December 20, 2011 - Meet The Aeternus Project: an ambitious new Sci-Fi series being developed by a talented group of local Vancouver filmmakers. Marketed as a science fiction drama, Aeternus follows the journey of four people whose lives begin to intertwine over a series of mysterious serial killings.

In what's becoming a trend, today's filmmakers are turning to social media to support original content for film and television, rather than to wait for traditional media to catch up to their funding needs. "Social media allows us to build relationships with fans throughout the entire creative process. It also enables us to work with them to create the kind of programming we're all excited to see," says Producer Daniel Kilby. Fundraising is currently underway through Indiegogo, an online platform devoted to supporting a variety of social and creative projects. The aim is to produce a prologue for the TV series, which will then be used to pitch Aeternus to networks and studios. Syfy, Space Channel, Telefilm, and The Movie Network will be targeted specifically.

The prologue for Aeternus follows a team of INTERPOL agents as they track a serial killer to a small town attempting to unravel the supernatural elements surrounding the murders. The prologue will set up the series and provides a look at what is to come.

Attached to the project is Creator/Producer Daniel Kilby, the driving force behind Aeternus, a professionally trained actor who turned to screenwriting four years ago. He is joined by Producers Rachel Langer and Derek Langer. Rachel, a consultant and expert in the field of new media, writes for several online publications as well as writing her own projects. Derek, in addition to his producing role, is slated to direct the project, bringing his experience in creative, corporate and music productions to the table.

Fundraising concludes January 5, 2012. To contribute, visit:
