New release of Kaa IoT open source platform - 0.7.0
Kaa 0.7.0 is a great leap forward in terms of usability, stability, and security. It features extremely convenient Avro UI forms, which allow developers to create Avro schemas and records by using web UI as an alternative to JSON files.
- Miami, FL (1888PressRelease) April 03, 2015 - The Kaa sandbox now comes preloaded with a great number of demo applications illustrating the use of all major Kaa features for various platforms. The Kaa sandbox was also redesigned in its graphical layout.
Significant enhancements were introduced into Kaa endpoint SDKs. The configuration management was implemented into the C endpoint SDK. As for the Java endpoint SDK, we introduced a number of improvements and optimized the API usability. Also, the support of user-specific configuration updates was provided in addition to group-specific updates implemented earlier.
Starting Kaa 0.7.0, Cassandra can be used as an alternative to MongoDB in a Kaa server deployment. A lot of progress has been made in terms of ease of integration between Kaa and different hardware platforms and operating systems. For example, Kaa integration with Snappy Ubuntu Core was a highlight of the team's visit to MWC 2015. We dedicated a separate documentation section for endpoint build and integration instructions, which will be regularly updated as we complete new integrations. Finally, the security of Kaa was strengthened by implementing user verifiers, which are responsible for the user verification during the registration of new personal devices in Kaa.
