New Paris Travel App Debuts on Apple App Store
A new travel app gives visitors to Paris a map of high-quality, low-cost restaurants.
- (1888PressRelease) August 02, 2011 - Darien, CT - A new travel app for visitors to Paris has just been published on the Apple App Store. The "Paris Bargain Eats" app directs travelers to a collection of highly-rated Parisian restaurants where visitors can get a great lunch or dinner for about 15-20 Euros per person.
The App was created by internationally-acclaimed film director and producer Kit-Yin Snyder. Ms. Snyder was inspired to develop this App by her love of good food, travel and the city of Paris. Since Paris is one of the most expensive cities in the world, Ms. Snyder thought that visitors would benefit from an App that wouldn't force them to choose between "emptying their wallets to get a decent meal or the alternative of eating at the fast food joints." With "Paris Bargain Eats," the user can eat well while saving money.
Restaurants were selected based on price, location, quality of food, and dining experience. Kit and her undercover crew visited numerous establishments in Paris and personally dined at each location, also shooting still photographs and video which are included in the App, alongside standard information such as phone numbers and hours of operation. As an extra touch, the App also includes the personal recommendations of the crew from each restaurant's menu.
For the sake of objectivity, the reviews were done incognito and without notifying the restaurant owners and managers. None of the restaurants paid to be reviewed, and were selected solely on the basis of a number of strict criteria by the Paris Bargain Eats crew. The App lists all the restaurant by Arrondissement (Paris neighborhood), in order to allow tourists to combine convenient dining options with their sight-seeing itineraries. The App also includes an attractions map and a Dollar / Euro conversion tool.
The App was developed by Quartus Technology, a mobile application development firm based in Darien, CT. According to Mr. Douglas Brooks, VP of Marketing and Sales at Quartus, "This app wasn't about making money from restaurant owners, this app was about helping the travelers find a great place to eat. As large crowds of visitors are drawn to these establishments, the owners will quickly become aware of the advertising power of the Paris Bargain Eats iPhone App. We expect this app to have robust sales on the App Store, appealing to people from all nations who are visiting Paris. Paris is one of the world's great travel destinations, and this app will have broad appeal to most visitors."
Previously, Ms. Snyder has released the highly-rated "Paris Food Markets" iPhone App, which serves as a guide to the many outdoor and indoor food markets throughout the city, bringing many lesser-known ones to the attention of visitors. Her next works will focus on Rome and New York City. More information about Kit-Yin Snyder can be found on her website, http://www.kityinsnyder.com
