DNice at Real Talk Radio on Friday, January 7, 2011 at 6:30pm is launching her book, 20 Thoughts Every Woman Should Have, on Sunday, January 9, 2011 at the McKenna Museum, from 6p-9m.
Christy Chapman is honoring 20 women from the Greater New Orleans area for their leadership in their respective careers and in the community of New Orleans. She knows that they all had a choice after Katrina to move somewhere else or to stay and fight to bring this city back. She is so proud of each and every one of them that in her moment of accomplishment she would like to stop and honor them. She has chosen these twenty women because they have inspired her in some way throughout the years. They will participate in a small ceremony. This is an invitation only affair.
Christy a graduate of McDonogh 35, who once dreamed of authoring her own works, has reached the pinnacle of her thought and while this is only the beginning of a lustrous career one can see the star from which she shines.
20 Thoughts Every Woman Should Have, is written by a young lady who has experienced some of life's tribulations. She has found the twenty most applicable ones for young woman fifteen to thirty four years of age or anyone else who may be struggling, trying to make sense of this world we live in. She reveals to them twenty facts and their supporting text in plain talk while pulling no punches, then walking through them step-by-step with actual actions one can take. The author is allowing all to benefit from her experiences and lets one see how she found her way.
These are just some of her main thoughts, she embraces the subjects of beauty, conflict resolution, efficacy, empathy, family, finances, friends, relationships, and self respect. She answers the hard questions, what is beauty, who is beautiful, where can we find beauty. She teaches us that there will be conflict and that it is how we present ourselves is how we will resolve our problems. She helps us see that we all have a purpose and value. Also that you never know what's going on in another's life and if you can show some compassion for your fellow human being you will do the world some good. We all know that sometimes it is hard to understand our own families but we must learn to work together to build the legacy that will be passed down from generation to generation. Sometimes we're blessed to have other relationships besides family, we have friends and lovers who need to be nurtured, loved, respected, and supported, we learn from the author the who, the whats and the whys. The last one mentioned here is the ultimate, Self Respect; this aspect is covered under several categories because unless we understand our worth, our value, like gold or platinum, diamonds or pearls, life or death we will continue to make the same mistakes over and over.
CeCe Chapman born and raised in New Orleans, Louisiana is twenty something years of age. She still resides in the New Orleans area but because of Katrina finds herself traveling all over the south to stay in touch with friends and family. She loves her Saints her family and her church not necessarily in that order. The love of writing became one of her favorite pastimes and emotional releases and any time she shared her writings with others they would comment on the quality and emotions that they invoked.
The book is published by Your Time Publishing, LLC and will be available in general book stores, Amazon.com, Books-a-Million, Barnes and Noble and other online stores and on the company's website www.yourtimepublishing.com, will also be available soon in e-book formats.
