New online service pageplanr.com to help designers and editors manage and control their print projects
Today zenzible launches pageplanr.com, a new online service that helps designers, editors and publishers with the planning and implementation of print projects. On pageplanr.com you can set up flat plans of print projects and assess their layout. At the same time, information and tasks between all parties can be exchanged via the platform.
- (1888PressRelease) March 31, 2015 - With pageplanr, everybody who organizes magazines, flyers, brochures or catalogs will have a much easier time since the entire implementation process is easier to handle. The tool lets you create, edit and present flat plans. At the same time, it is a private communication platform on which all can share information on the design and the execution of the print project. Thus, coordination processes can be simplified and reviewed later at any time.
Creating a print project such as a magazine or a brochure requires a large amount of time and labor simply for organizing and controlling. Anyone who has ever asked questions like "Are the images for page 14 ready?" or "Why have the costs for this article increased?" will know what we are talking about. pageplanr promises to reduce this critical work and make the management of the print process easier and more efficient.
Tom Nakat, entrepreneur and the brains behind pageplanr, knows about the problems from personal experience: "Both as a graphic designer and agency director, I always had to spend a lot of time on organizing and controlling my print projects. Lots of emails and crutches as Excel spreadsheets, plus constantly reworking a handmade flat plan and print-outs to the wall."
Of course, there are already software solutions which can take over the planning side, so Tom Nakat, but none suited their needs. "We certainly have not found any good software that would have been affordable and that would also support team collaboration as we have imagined it. And because we have developed websites and cross-media catalog systems for many years, we were able to create a tool that fills this gap and that we can offer now with pageplanr.com as a service to everyone."
In addition to the functions for page planning and presentation, pageplanr provides a messaging section for private communications. All team members connected to a print object can leave messages here, which appear similar to a Twitter timeline next to the flat plan. In this way, all information about a project comes together automatically at a central location. The messages can also be converted to tasks just by addressing a team member and adding a colon to the message. Such a task will then appear automatically on the to-do list of each team member. When the task is done, it can be checked off with a click of the mouse and instantly everybody in the team will know about it.
Currently, pageplanr is still in public beta mode and all functions are available free for use. In summer, this phase will be completed and the service will be charged. However, the price of $4.99 per month for single accounts or $9.99 per month for team accounts can really be described as very moderate considering the extensive possibilities of the service.
