- (1888PressRelease) September 29, 2010 - Up-and-coming author Monica Camuglia announces the launch of her debut novel Fallacy 2012 in the United States. Fallacy 2012 is a gripping story about 2012 in which Ms. Camuglia weaves current theories about evolution and transformation into the lives of her characters. The wafer-thin distinction between fiction and reality, fantasy and autobiography, is one of the main sources of tension in the novel. The novel's plot unfolds in several locations-Europe, the Middle East, and the United States.
Ms. Camuglia's goal as an author is to inspire in her readers a more profound awareness of their own personal responsibility for a peaceful and balanced life. "I have always been fascinated by life stories and the playing out of individual destinies," says Ms. Camuglia. "My work aims to entertain, inspire, and communicate the importance of looking inward as the first step to changing the course of one's own life."
She gives readers intimate insight into the emotions of a deeply traumatized woman and with great empathy charts her character's path toward inner peace and equilibrium. "The plot pits one Mayan scholar's theory of the Mayan Calendar - a profound shift in human consciousness - against the sensationalist stories of environmental devastation and apocalypse painted by the media. The contradictory theories and mysteries surrounding the year 2012 continue to fascinate me," explains Ms. Camuglia.
Previously released in Europe, Fallacy 2012 has already captured readers' attention:
"Rarely have I been so engrossed in a book; Fallacy 2012 has engaged me in such an intense way - made me reflect for days, if not weeks."
"Fallacy 2012 - a lively book about love and suffering, aligned with an undercurrent of world events, a fiction novel with an interesting hypothesis on the year 2012, with an open end. Fascinating until the last word."
"The story's personal situations are cleverly interwoven with broader political and economic events, and point to global events that reflect the same pattern, chaos and instability."
