    About the Book:
It’s funny how things have a way of working themselves out.
Sooner or later, lost things are found, complicated situations are resolved and wrongs are righted.

Set in rural England during the early to mid-twentieth century, this story weaves together the changing lives of landed gentry, animal lovers and ordinary people who share a purpose. Those who live, love and work in Armsworth Manor draw us into their world through their words as between them, the story unfolds.

    About the Author:
Janet Ollerenshaw is a retired English & Music teacher. She has lived in Hertfordshire most of her life and has been involved with Scouting, animals and arts & crafts alongside her teaching career. She writes for pleasure and enjoys word-craft.

Janet has a Med in Educational Research from Cambridge and studied with the Open University for her first Degree in Humanities with Music and English Language. She does seasonal work as an exam marker for Edexcel and for the Cambridge International Exam board. Janet also published the “Turning” series of novels entitled “Inside Out”, “Upside Down” and “Back to Front”, and three cosy British mysteries entitled “Secret of the Snail”, “Cane Toads” and “A Single Rook.”

    Excerpt from “Sooner or Later”:

“Stupid man,” Dent sneered. “Money of course. He didn’t take the dog himself but he arranged for someone to come and get her. In the night – left the gate unlocked no doubt – thieving little bastard.” There was no doubt that Mr Dent believed wholeheartedly in what he was saying. It was crystal clear that he was not enamoured of John and that he was only too pleased to see him taken away – and in handcuffs.
I, on the other hand, was not of the same opinion at all. The trouble was the drugs I was prescribed for my heart meant I slept very soundly and would not have heard anything less than a bomb dropped in the yard. There was no way that I could defend John and my personal opinion of him was not enough to prevent the police officers from arresting him and taking him to the cells below their station in nearby Chesterham.

Peggy took my hand and squeezed it. I knew she wanted me to stay calm, to not get angry or upset. She was afraid that I might repeat the heart attack from which I had only recently recovered. However, I was too dismayed to be angry and too shocked to be upset. All I could think of was how to prove that John was innocent; even the prior objective of recovering the missing bitch, paled into insignificance. No doubt she would turn up sooner or later, much like all the other things that had disappeared. It couldn’t come soon enough for me.”
