  • Miami, FL (1888PressRelease) April 19, 2012 - As a new organization intended to mobilize residents, the MidBeach Neighborhood Alliance (MBNA), formerly named MidBeach Homeowners Alliance (MBHA), will continue to serve as a platform for Miami Beach homeowners and businesses. All residents and business owners in the MidBeach area are invited to attend the MBNA meeting on Tuesday, May 1st at 6:30 p.m., hosted by the Green Diamond Condominium, located at 4775 Collins Ave, Miami Beach, Florida.

"The inaugural MidBeach Homeowners Alliance held on March 19th was a tremendous success," said Jerry Libbin, Vice Mayor of Miami Beach and President and CEO of the Miami Beach Chamber of Commerce. "The participation and representation from over a dozen different condominiums along MidBeach helped build the momentum for the formal establishment of a community driven organization."

As a result of the meeting, the attendees elected to change the name of the organization to the Midbeach Neighborhood Alliance (MBNA). The participants also decided that future meetings will be held on the first Tuesday of each month.
During the May 1st meeting, the MBNA founding members will continue to discuss the mission, goals and constitution of the organization representing the interests of homeowners in the MidBeach District of Miami Beach, spanning from 23rd Street to 63rd Street.

The MBNA was formed by community leaders who sought to create a platform for MidBeach residents to collaborate and communicate common interests effectively and mobilize support for important issues.

Some areas of discussions will include: Crime prevention, traffic safety, neighborhood beautification, municipal planning and zoning changes, as well as the need for more effective and consistent communications with elected leaders, government officials and the business community.

Founding partners of the MBNA include: The Continental Group, 5600 Condominium, Blue Diamond, Canyon Ranch Residence, The Caribbean, Carriage House, The Executive Condominium, Green Diamond, Imperial House, Maison Grande, Mosaic, Regency Tower, Seacoast 5151, Seacoast 5700, Kane & Company, and Siegfriend, Rivera, Lerner, De La Torre, Sobel.

Additionally, founding members of the new MBNA include: Miami Beach Commissioner and Vice Mayor Jerry Libbin, Matthew Abramowitz, Alejandro & Kate Arce, Avra Bank, David Basch, Matteo Bianchi, Kevin Brill, Alicia Casanova, David & Carol Cohen, Justin Fuhrman, Michael Girotto, Muhammad Hasan, Nancy Ladd, Roger Leifer, Simon Nemni, Chana Perl, James Richmond, Laverne Rodriguez, Miriam Ruiz, Kim Selmore and Gustavo Verite.

The MBNA strongly encourages MidBeach residents to attend and reach out to fellow neighbors to encourage their participation. The success of the MBNA is heavily dependent on resident involvement and community support.
