New Kit For Improved Protein Solubility Launched
Dilyx Biotechnologies, LLC announces the launch of the OptiResc Protein Aggregate Solubilization Kit, allowing research scientists to rescue inadvertently aggregated protein samples. The kit saves effort and money because it helps life the science researchers to continue work on protein samples, that would otherwise be unusable¬.
- Seattle-Bellevue-Everett, WA (1888PressRelease) September 28, 2011 - Since protein aggregation is the number one cause of protein sample loss, Dilyx' patent pending OptiResc Protein Aggregate Solubilization Kit meets a substantial need in the protein research community¬. The kit combines systematic solution design with array-based disaggregation screening technology enabling protein researchers to analyze and optimize protein aggregate solubilization. Carried out on a small sample of precipitated protein, the kit's results are easy to scale up and allow scientists to quickly rescue large protein preparations.
"Protein solutions often crash out when they are not treated properly. The problem is that during the initial purification scouting phase nobody knows what 'proper treatment' looks like. Which pH, salt, organic additive should a researcher use to keep the target protein functionally active and non-aggregated?" asks Dave Dilyx, Technical Advisor. "The performance of this kit is phenomenal. You can watch your protein aggregates dissolve using a microscope. We made a movie showing dissolution of a protein sample and our customers are looking forward to analyze and rescue their own protein samples with the OptiResc kit".
Protein aggregation is often reversible, allowing to screen for the right solution conditions.
The OptiResc experiment results in information that gives unique insight into protein sample behavior. With an OptiResc kit on the lab shelf, protein scientists have an insurance policy that they can draw on when the calamity of protein aggregation stops their progress.
The OptiResc reagent kit employs Dilyx' proprietary OptiSol formulation array, allowing for systematic analysis by optical light microscopy. Carried out in special 96 well Inspection Plates the simple pipetting steps can be carried out within 10 minutes and solubilize protein aggregates typically in a matter of minutes. Dilyx Biotechnologies' OptiResc Protein Aggregate Solubilization Kit contain reagent formulations and Inspection Plates sufficient to rescue up to six different protein samples and is offered at $599. The included OptiResc Reagent Listing helps to identify optimal pH, salt, buffer type, additives and antioxidants that solubilize reversibly aggregated protein samples.
