New Inspection and Laboratory Facility in Carson, California Opened by SGS
The SGS Industrial Services division in North America is pleased to announce that construction of the SGS inspection and laboratory facility in Carson, California has been successfully completed.
- (1888PressRelease) May 26, 2011 - SGS, the world's leading inspection, verification, testing and certification company, is pleased to announce the construction completion of an inspection and laboratory facility in Carson, California. Strategically located just 30 minutes south of Los Angeles and adjacent to the ports of Los Angeles and Long Beach in Southern California, this new facility of SGS North America provides a convenient platform to serve petrochemical upstream, refinery, pipeline, marine, and marketing operations.
With about 15,000 square feet, including administrative offices, crude and fuel oil laboratory, inspection-related areas and an octane engine PVM center of competency, the SGS lab offers quantity and quality inspection, analytical testing in the Oil, Gas and Chemicals (OGC) sector, complex fuel oil, crude oil and petroleum distillate analytical testing as well as comprehensive petroleum and chemical inspection.
The Carson facility is setting the stage for the One SGS Business Model, where multiple business lines not only converge, but thrive by delivering collaborative value propositions to customers. The goal of One SGS is being realized by establishing a base of inspection and testing operations of various business lines, which are able to provide multiple service solutions through a singular conduit to SGS clientele, including SGS Industrial Services.
In order to solidify SGS's market position on the West Coast, the Carson lab is being utilized and leveraged by operations such as Asset Integrity Management, Non-Destructive Testing, Tablet Technology, Trade Services, Supply Chain and for innovative inspections.
In accordance with the One SGS Business Model, all SGS business lines are to function as one entity; to promote strategic and partnership-based relationships on the West Coast. SGS Industrial Services, together with other business lines, can now meet the high demand for inspection and testing services in North America thanks to the new Carson facility.
