New Hampshire boy, aged eight, publishes new children’s book entitled “Reindeer the Dragon” by Arlo Burtnick
This is a charming fantasy tale involving mysterious magical eggs found in the forest and an adventurous pet dragon

    About the book:
One day seven-year-old Ruby was walking in the woods and saw a glow. The glow was three eggs. After one of the eggs hatched, Ruby found himself with a pet Christmas dragon, which he named Reindeer.

Can Ruby, his sister, and their five cousins take care of Reindeer and entertain him? What kind of magic does a Christmas dragon have during the holidays?

Find out as they explore the woods, have fun on Christmas Day (with a magical visit from Santa!), and celebrate Ruby’s birthday.

What do you think comes from the other two eggs Ruby found?

    About the Author, Arlo Burtnick:
Arlo loves dragons and would like to be a geologist and architect when he is an adult. He has a passion for drawing and for reading, and when he was seven, he turned his bedroom into a library-themed room. He had six pets by the time he was eight years old, the same age he was when he wrote this book. One cat, two dogs, two goats, a small pony… along with an imaginary dragon named Draggy.

    Excerpt from “Reindeer the Dragon”:
“Ruby walked over to the little dragon. He was red, green and gold. His eyes were as green as a Christmas tree. He crawled to Ruby. Suddenly, red, green and gold magic floated to Ruby and a bracelet surrounded his wrist. It was gold with a green Christmas tree on it. There were five red berries on the tree. The magic felt tingly. The dragon sneezed and sparkly lights danced about. The dragon nudged him. “I will call you ‘Reindeer’,” he whispered. The dragon flapped its little wings and glowed brighter. Then it wagged its tail.

There was a pound on the door. “Ruby!” yelled Dad.

“I am coming!” Ruby replied. He ran out the door and went to the kitchen. Reindeer was flying close behind him. Mom and Fallen were already in the kitchen. Mom did not notice Reindeer.”
