- (1888PressRelease) February 06, 2012 - New fashion styling courses are arriving in Australia, with the Australian Institute of Styling (AIOS) launching courses in the major cities of Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane.
Wendy Mak, the founder of Australian Institute of Styling, has designed the courses based on her experience running a successful styling business over the past seven years. "The fashion styling courses offered by the Australian Institute of Styling have been developed as a result of our real-life, practical experience," says Wendy Mak, founder of the AIOS.
The courses are designed to fill a gap in the personal stylist market by providing professional courses that include extensive hands-on training, ongoing mentoring and continuing support to build a business in styling, or to find internships and jobs.
Courses offered range from a brief introduction to fashion styling as a career, to full 3 day courses, that are delivered face-to-face and include a combination of 25% theoretical study and 75% practical training. Courses from February to May are available in Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane. The cost is between $500 and $1500.
So much experience in the field has enabled Wendy to train hundreds of students in the past years to follow their dreams and become personal shoppers or stylists. Her approachable and friendly nature, in-depth knowledge of the industry, business and marketing allows students to get to know all aspects of being in the business.
Students give very positive feedback when asked about attending courses. "The workshop was so fun. We were taught techniques for handling clients that no book would ever cover. The feedback on each of the exercises was very specific, giving me confidence in my own style and ability to get the most out of each client" says Sharon from Sydney, an alumni of the styling course.
Wendy says students have many different reasons for attending the course. "Whether people want to start a business in personal styling, are looking for a part-time income, or simply want to learn more about the business, attending a short course is a great way to find out what opportunities are available".
