New England Car Dealer Exceeds $247,290 In Donations To Local Schools

Portland-South Portland, ME (1888PressRelease) December 12, 2013 - Berlin City Auto Group, a family of dealerships founded in 1980 in New England, and its Drive for Education program, a forward-thinking campaign created by the employees of Berlin City Auto Group, announce the award recipients in its Drive for Education program. Donating $42,595 to 22 K-12 schools spanning across New England, Berlin City Auto Group has exceeded awarding of $247,290 to local schools. Recipient schools will be honored with a check presentation at a Berlin City Auto Group dealership in New Hampshire, Vermont and Maine on December 17, 18 and December 19.

To be considered for the program, a school had to submit an application and essay to Drive for Education by the middle of November, 2013 explaining how their school would use a donation of up to $3,500. Berlin City Auto's Brand Ambassadors, a group of employees that lead the dealerships' community involvement campaigns, evaluated each of the school's applications and selected the winners accordingly.

Berlin City Auto Group will hold check presentation ceremonies to honor the winning schools on Tuesday, December 17, at Berlin City Ford in Gorham, New Hampshire beginning 12 noon; Thursday, December 18 at Berlin City Kia in Burlington Vermont at 11am; and Thursday, December 19, at Berlin City Toyota in Maine at 12pm. Awarded schools include:

• Rick Marcotte Central School - South Burlington, Vt. (2 grants)
• Winooski Middle School - Winooski, Vt.
• St. Albans Town Educational Center - St. Albans, Vt.

From each vehicle sold at its six dealerships throughout New England, Berlin City gives a portion of sales to the Drive for Education program. This second award of the year, the Drive for Education Foundation has awarded more than $247,290 to New England schools with the first donation of $40,000 made in June of 2011 to twelve recipient schools.
