New Developments in FLNG Construction

Ron is set to present on the topic at the 12th Annual FLNG Asia Pacific Summit. The 2014 event takes place at the Sheraton Seoul D Cube City Hotel in Korea between October 21 and 23.
This year's event is focusing on the development of small, medium and large-scale FLNG projects from the perspective of several stakeholders including oil companies, offtakers, EPCs, shipyards and solution providers.
Leading service providers were asked to deliver presentations and prepare an allocated booth space for further discussion and networking. Belzona's corporate representatives and Mr Joung Yup of Hyun Woo Trading, company's Distributor in South Korea, are the event sponsors. Mr Campbell's presentation will address common FLNG fabrication and maintenance issues associated with hot work, premature failures and downtime. The use of high performance polymeric materials to combat these issues will be discussed, detailing cold bonding applications as well as lasting protection of pressure vessels and pipework.
Ron Campbell has over 30 years' experience in leading the development and specification of coatings and composites for prevention and repair of problems caused by the effects of corrosion and erosion. He joined Belzona Polymerics in 1982 in the role of Technical Services Engineer. His deep interest in coatings and composites and understanding of the industry's needs influenced the development of new materials and application methodology, allowing Mr Campbell to subsequently progress to managerial and directorial positions.
Ron Campbell is a published author with more recent papers focusing on corrosion management of process vessels, including innovative solutions to small bore nozzle protection and flange corrosion prevention and repair. Mr. Campbell has presented at various conferences, including NACE Malaysia: Turn up the Heat, NACE Oman: Vessel Lining Workshop, NACE Saudi Arabia: High Temperature Coatings, Indocor Indonesia: CUI, NACE Japan: High Temperature Coatings and IMXPO India the Qatar Corrosion Summit among others.
