Two female entrepreneurs are taking on fashion industry norms and designing modern, elevated versatile essential silhouettes for larger sizes with their brand CoIX (pronounced coy)

Women who wear a particular size avoid ever asking, as the answer is likely to be no. CoIX’s co-founders, Charlotte and Sherene, know this experience all too well with size US 12 feet, out of range from your typical store’s line which ends in a US 8 or 9.
Whilst women's feet have grown two sizes since the 1970s from a size eight to ten for men and from a size four to size six for women, according to the College of Podiatry, mainstream brands have failed to catch up.
"When size five was average the industry would think providing two sizes above to a seven was just about the fringe of adequate for women, but now that it's a six, we should be seeing far more eights and even nines as standard," says the college's Dr Jill Halstead-Rastrick.
Having struggled to find fun, modern footwear to meet their busy, versatile lifestyles as London professionals they resolved to create a brand for people just like them. “We noticed the body positive movement was in an upswing, but it didn’t seem to include flying the flag for larger feet,” says Sherene.
