(1888PressRelease) March 19, 2025 - Geneva – SGS, the world’s leading testing, inspection and certification company, has published SafeGuardS 037.25, reporting on China’s new national standard, GB/T 44838-2024, for green product evaluation of apparel and accessories made of leather or fur.

Issued on November 28, 2024, by the State Administration for Market Regulation and the Standardization Administration of the People’s Republic of China, the new standard will come into effect on June 1, 2025. It focuses on the evaluation of various green leather and fur apparel and accessories products.

Included in the scope of the standard are the green evaluation of various leather and fur clothing products, including leather garments, fur garments, double-face garments, and their accessories (such as collars, shawls, scarves, etc.).
