Started by Lead Pastor Brian Norris, Citylight intends to reflect the community it serves and desires to see a congregation develop that represents every socio-economic & ethnic group found in our city. The event kick-starts now until September 16th, as they engage, encourage, and energize the community, with an exciting invitation to come and experience REAL, SIMPLE, FAITH.
Citylight's Back 2 Church Sunday will take place on September 16th at Dilworth Elementary School at 11:15am. This day is recognized as National Back 2 Church Sunday, a Lifeway Research campaign which focuses on inviting the unchurched population back to church. Steaming from the belief that the gospel is a great unifier, Citylight invites the community to enjoy an action-packed day filled with live music, kids' face painting, catered food, sporting activities and more.
With last year's over 7600 church participation in this growing national movement and 25% average increase in their attendance on that day, Citylight is excited to build a strong initial presence in the Charlotte South End community. Lead Pastor, Brian Norris, recently deemed, "the church is not a select circle of the immaculate, but a home where the outcast may come in." Citylight is opening their doors and providing people out of church with an opportunity to come back and people unfamiliar with church a welcoming environment to discover more about Jesus.
