New Chapel Grill Restaurant to Have Grand Opening and building rededication Nov. 2 in Historic Naples First Baptist Church

Naples-Marco Island, FL (1888PressRelease) October 20, 2012 - The Chapel Grill, soon to be Naples' newest restaurant, will have its Grand Opening celebration and building rededication at 4 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 2 on the former site of Naples' historic First Baptist Church at 811 7th Ave. S. in Downtown Naples. In addition, there will be a special invitation-only celebration for the restaurant's opening that following weekend.

The building will be rededicated during the opening to the parents of Mr. and Mrs. William Y. Hutchinson. An original 1985 plaque from the restored church identified the Hutchinsons as the family that the Church was previously dedicated to.

The 65-year-old landmark church has been completely renovated back to its original pristine state, façade and vaulted ceilings intact, and refashioned into a casual dining restaurant, the Chapel Grill. Featuring fresh, local seafood and specialty steaks, a full bar with unique cocktails, private dining rooms, and more, the Chapel Grill's management is intent on making the new restaurant a crown jewel in the firmament of Downtown Naples' already spectacular dining scene.

Stephen Fleischer, owner and founder of the Chapel Grill, was not looking to open a new restaurant when he came across the historic church. But it was up for sale, and Fleischer felt called to save the local landmark from the wrecking ball, so he purchased it in June of 2011, and converted it into the restaurant that will open Nov. 2. "After all of the work we've put into this beautiful building, getting the best staff we could find, and putting together a wonderful menu, I and the rest of our team could not be more excited for our Grand Opening," Fleischer said. "I truly hope everyone in Naples with a passion for food, history or both, will come and see what we're all about."
