New Book by Larry Smith: Floodlands
Adelaide Books announces the release of the newest by Larry Smith.
- (1888PressRelease) February 23, 2020 - New York, NY – ADELAIDE BOOKS is proud to offer the latest work by Larry Smith Floodlands hitting stores everywhere on September 30th, 2019.
The stories in Floodlands are very loosely tied together by a water motif, it's destructive as well as reformative impact. Actual floods, semen, alcohol, and so forth…
In the stories where actual water images are not apparent, a sense arises of civilizations on the verge of breakage and renewal. Here too, styles and voices vary widely. For example, there are two “short stories in the form of a screenplay” and one “short story in the form of a radio play.”
Larry Smith has published fiction, poetry, and a variety of nonfiction in literary journals throughout the world. His 2016 novella Patrick Fitzmike and Mike Fitzpatrick (Outlook 19) traverses the political, sexual, and spiritual terrain of the modern Catholic Church. A former business journalist with thousands of bylines, and retired executive of a public relations and crisis management firm, Smith grew up in Cleveland and migrated to New York in the late 1960s. He is currently compiling a third collection of stories called High and Dry as well as a collection of hybrid nonfictions entitled Nicole Simpson: The Untold Story.
