New Art Exhibition "Paths Across Shapes" to Open at Artspace Warehouse Los Angeles
Artspace Warehouse will exhibit “Paths Across Shapes” from August 6 to September 2, 2022, featuring artists whose paintings rest on scaffolds of expertly constructed linework and shapes. The exhibition in Los Angeles features dozens of original artworks for sale.

Conventional shapes precise and regular, like the geometric, coexist with those of organic origin to breathe life into a work. We are surrounded by these rarely spoken geometries, and each artist featured in "Paths Across Shapes" explores this hidden language to new depths. QR-codes throughout the art gallery allow visitors to gain more insights to each artist’s works.
Maria C. Bernhardsson is a colorful artist who lives and paints in Sweden. Bernhardsson travels the world photographing and sketching houses to use as inspiration for her canvas and paper works. She plays with the colors and shadows of individual houses in conjunction with the overall feeling of gazing at a collection of these buildings. She then adds playful details such as flowers and animals to make the houses feel more like homes.
In Greet Helsen's abstract works she uses mainly acrylic, but utilizes a medium like watercolor, bringing lightness into her paintings. The shimmering colors are transparent and are accentuated by ink lines and reflecting and highlighting large swathes of color. This process gives the paintings unmistakable lightness and softness with harmonious combinations of bright color blocks and lines set against white backgrounds.
Thick painted accents in Canadian artist Kimberly Blackstock’s artworks create compelling depth and dimensionality. Blackstock has become known for her dedication to exploring and pushing the boundaries of paint application. Her palette is uplifting and energetic, and her work is full of bigger-than-life gestural brushstrokes, vibrant pools of paint, and parallel lines of saturated color.
Creating still-life artworks that feel tangible is one of the main goals Colorado-based artist Jon Ramirez has as he composes his photorealistic paintings. Ramirez draws inspiration from street art and urban culture, exploring the study of light and textures. His incredibly detailed compositions are created using acrylic and spray paint on wood. Rather than just painting an object, he captures action and movement in both a compressive and explosive manner.
Brandon Neher has always had an eye for bold patterns and surreal abstractions. Visual landscapes of the picturesque central California coastline dominate most of the imagery found in his collage-style paintings, along with popular cartoon characters and geometric patterns.
Heny Steinberg arranges her paintings through a grid or lattice system which is then deconstructed and re-imagined. The shapes within Steinberg’s work transcend their two-dimensional representation and have meaning beyond appearance. Her process begins with concrete images and references, yet over time gives way to her process of decontextualization.
