New Addition to Native Learning Center's 5th Annual Summer Conference Agenda
The Native Learning Center has added new presentations that focuses on Strengthening Tribal Communities into the Future to it's 5th Annual Summer Conference Agenda.
- (1888PressRelease) April 24, 2013 - The Native Learning Center (NLC), a Seminole Tribe of Florida program dedicated to the development of cultural and quality of life skills for all Native and Indigenous people, announces that the 5th Annual Summer Conference has new additions to the agenda; register now! The 5th Annual Summer Conference will be hosted at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino, Hollywood, FL on June 4-6, 2013.
The NLC has packed the agenda with presentations led by experts focusing on Strengthening Tribal Communities into the Future. Each of the presentations touches on key components that will help strengthen the goals and projects that your Tribal community has set out to accomplish. The presentations include topics that touch on: culture, language, safety and protection for your communities, and much more.
NLC is honored to include the following presenters in the 5th Annual Summer Conference:
Community Outreach Presentation: Chance Rush (Three Affiliated Tribes (Hidatsa)), Cloudboy Consulting, LLC, will be presenting throughout the conference on topics that include: Elements of Life for Growth and Balance, Value Your Worth, and Qualities and Quantities.
Motivational Presentation: Medicine Wheel Philosophy: Success through Balance - Tuesday, June 4, 8:00am - 10:00am
Jim Warne (Oglala Lakota Sioux), Warrior Society Development, LLC, will be addressing the ability to balance the four human elements: Mental, Physical, Emotional, and Spiritual. Being able to balance between these human elements will produce success and wellness.
Special Lunch Presentation: A Journey Toward Financial Empowerment - Wednesday, June 5, 12:00pm - 1:30pm
Montoya Whiteman (Cheyenne & Arapaho Tribes of Oklahoma), and Sarah EchoHawk (Pawnee Nation of Oklahoma), will talk about financial empowerment, financial abuse, identity theft, and the effects of abuse and financial empowerment to the individual and their community. Participants will be guided through a 16-page booklet that includes discovering family financial dynamics, setting financial boundaries and access to resources and aids. The session information will help encourage the implementation of the curriculum at the individual, Tribal, or community level.

The Native Learning Center (NLC) is an educational resource that offers Native and Indigenous people the opportunity to gain knowledge and skills that improve quality of life through housing related educational programs.
