Neural networks have processed more than six million radiation imagines in Moscow medical institutions
During the Experiment the Neural networks have processed more than six million radiation imagines. Moscow's hospitals started using AI-based vision in 2020. Computer-aided vision was used to diagnose pneumonia and assess the degree of lung damage, then the number of directions was expanded.
- (1888PressRelease) July 06, 2022 - The Neural networks have been helping Moscow radiologists analyze X-ray images for over two years now. Artificial intelligence services have already processed more than six million studies. Among them, more than two million CT, 3.5 million x-rays and fluorography, as well as half a million mammograms.
The use of innovative methods for the analysis of medical images in Moscow started in 2020. Computer-aided vision was used to diagnose pneumonia and assess the degree of lung damage, then the number of directions was expanded. Now the services help doctors find signs of lung cancer, COVID-19, spinal osteoporosis, thoracic aortic aneurysm, coronary heart disease, stroke, and pulmonary hypertension on computed tomography. In addition, artificial intelligence makes it possible to detect lung pathologies in X-ray and fluorography, and in mammography - breast cancer.
Radiologists have already started testing complex artificial intelligence services that recognize signs of seven different pathologies in a single medical image of an X-ray examination.
Artificial intelligence services are integrated into a unified radiological information service (URIS) of a unified medical information and analytical system. They are available to radiologists of all Moscow hospitals connected to URIS. Using it allows specialists to make diagnoses and spend less time describing studies.
The experiment on the implementation of computer vision into medicine was organized by the Moscow Social Development Complex and Department of Information Technologies and Center for Diagnostics and Telemedicine of the MHD. It has become a platform for the development of artificial intelligence technologies in Russia, as well as support for domestic developers.
