NetCom Learning Announces October Sarder Scholarship Winner
The latest scholarship recipient, Tonie Cox, will use the award to pursue IT skills that will aid her in a career in landscape architecture rendering.
- New York, NY (1888PressRelease) December 14, 2011 - NetCom Learning recently announced the winner of the October Sarder Scholarship. Tonie Cox will use her $2,500 scholarship to further her IT skills in order to combine technology and landscape design.
Cox hopes to work in landscape architecture at a civic scale, designing public spaces like parks and plazas. IT skills come into play in her goal of creating mixed-media renderings that use AutoCAD for drafting and hardscape design, hand rendering for color and planting design, and Photoshop for lighting effects and text. Cox said this technique seems to be the future of landscape design, but it's still cutting edge.
"Very few people have mastered this technique, but it is an excellent marriage of technology and art. I believe that having this skill would give me a competitive advantage in this difficult economic climate," Cox said.
Each month NetCom Learning awards another student the Sarder Scholarship to pursue an IT career or to upgrade IT skills. Named after benefactor Russell Sarder, author, entrepreneur, and Chairman and CEO of NetCom Learning, the award often eliminates the financial obstacle facing some students.
Sarder said that many students want to continue with their IT studies, or perhaps they are looking to start a new career but are inhibited by cost.
"The Sarder Scholarship is a significant step in the IT careers of these students because it gives them the encouragement to go forward and pursue their goals," Sarder said.
The Sarder Scholarship is open to individuals of any background or skill level and can be used for any of the IT industry courses NetCom Learning provides. To find out how to qualify for the Sarder Scholarship, visit http://www.netcomlearning.com/scholarship/sarder-scholarship-rules.phtml
