NeSmith Chevrolet Power Pullathon Was A Huge Success
The NeSmith Chevrolet Power Pullathon at the Longneedle Farm Tractor Pull on November 13, 2010 was a big success with over 600 people in attendance.
- Savannah, GA (1888PressRelease) November 18, 2010 - Demere NeSmith, Dealer Principal of Nesmith Chevrolet Buick GMC in Claxton, GA., announced today that the NeSmith Chevrolet Power Pullathon at the Longneedle Farm Tractor Pull on November 13, 2010 was a big success with over 600 people in attendance. NeSmith gave out 250 prize balloons and the prizes ranged from a free turkey, free oil change, free car wash and a NeSmith t-shirt. Nesmith also hosted the half-time show and had multiple displays and contests going on throughout the day.
The halftime show included a NeSmith Turkey Trot and a NeSmith Turkey Toss which were a big hit with tractor pull attendees. Alicia Cartee won the Turkey Toss and all of the kids were winners in the Turkey Trot. NeSmith also had a booth where attendees registered to win $50 in cash. KIX 96.5 FM broadcasted live from the event from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. They also gave away a total of 10 family four packs (2 each day when the Nesmith Tractor Sounder is played) leading up to the event.
[Demere] NeSmith said, "At NeSmith Chevrolet we love to support local community events and we had a blast at the tractor pull. There was a great turnout and it was a whole lot of fun for all of the families that attended." He added, "We appreciate Debra and Woody [Anderson] for putting on this fun, family event every month and we plan to sponsor another pull sometime soon!"
Debra and Woody Anderson run the pulls on the first or second Saturday of every month on the Longneedle Farm. The Andersons purchased the property in 1999 and spent several years enjoying the peacefulness of country living. After Woody retired from the local fire department in 2007, they decided to turn a portion of the land into the truck and tractor pull, keeping the old style, country charm of the barn which the concession stand currently occupies. The first pull was April 14, 2007 and it has gained popularity over the years. It has become a big event in the community and has remained a family event with no pets, no alcoholic beverages or unsportsmanlike conduct allowed.
