NeSmith Chevrolet Kicks Off New Season With The Evans County Recreation Department

In support of Claxton's youth, Nesmith Chevrolet will provide the ECRD with football kits filled with equipment bags, 5-gallon water coolers, dry erase coaches' clipboards, and t-shirts. In addition, the ECRD will have the opportunity to raise as much as $10,000 by selling $5 raffle tickets for a vehicle giveaway. All of the money raised from the tickets will stay with the ECRD. The first prize winner will receive a new 2011 GMC Terrain. Nesmith Chevrolet Buick GMC and other local-area Buick-GMC dealerships in the Southeast Region are donating the vehicle to area participating leagues. One second prize winner will be selected from the surrounding-area to win a tailgate package that includes a top of the line grill and a $100 gift card for the grocery store of the winner's choice.

One-hundred percent of the proceeds go directly to participating leagues, and they can use the funds in any way they choose. Some of the leagues have reported that they plan to grant scholarships to families who cannot afford to enroll their children in the league, while others have said they will use the funds to improve fields and equipment.
