Nesmith Chevrolet Claxton Vows To Raise $50,000 For Salvation Army
Twenty Dollar Chevrolet SSR Raffle Tickets Available For Sale At NeSmith.
- Savannah, GA (1888PressRelease) November 18, 2011 - Demere NeSmith, dealer principal of NeSmith Chevrolet Buick GMC on Highway 280 West in Claxton G.A., announced today that the dealership is raffling off a "Slingshot Yellow" 2004 Chevrolet SSR to benefit the Salvation Army of Savannah. The raffle kicked-off at NeSmith Chevrolet's 100th Anniversary Celebration on Saturday, November 5th. The dealership has set a goal to sell 2,500 raffle tickets to ultimately raise $50,000. Raffle tickets are $20 and may be purchased at NeSmith Chevrolet in Claxton up until the drawing on December 23rd.
The Chevy SSR was bestowed upon the Salvation Army of Savannah by an anonymous donor in hopes that the vehicle would be used to promote the Salvation Army brand and community efforts. This distinctive roadster has a retro look inspired by the late 1940's Chevy pick-up with a 5.3 liter V8 engine and 5243 miles. All of the proceeds from the raffle will go towards the Salvation Army's Christian mission - to meet human needs and to inspire others to do the same.
Last year The Salvation Army in Savannah received a generous donation of 4,000 toys for Christmas from NeSmith Chevrolet. "When this one of a kind Chevrolet was donated to our organization last week, I knew the one person I needed to call was Demere NeSmith," said Captain Marion Platt, Commanding Officer at the Salvation Army in Savannah.
The NeSmith team has already contacted several organizations and key individuals in the community to assist with raffle ticket sales.
"This raffle is not only a chance to win a Chevrolet SSR, it is a way for people in the community get involved in this wonderful cause. Raising money for the Salvation Army is like raising money for your neighbor because you are helping those in need in your community," said NeSmith. "Mr. Platt is a compassionate gentleman, so it is our pleasure to hold this raffle to honor the Christian mission he upholds at the Salvation Army."
